The Benefits of OIL pulling

Oil Pulling in a simple Ayurvedic Health practice that is a natural way to take care of your oral health. Depending on your dominant dosha, you would use either sesame oil (vata), coconut oil (pitta) or sunflower or mustard seed oil (kapha). I like to use coconut oil because it tastes the best! I keep my oil in a bottle with some Melaleuca (doTERRA's Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade tea tree oil) essential oil added to it in my bathroom for easy use! I put the Melaleuca in there for several reasons. It's anti-bactericial, anti-fungal, anti-septic and it's purifying, cleansing, it promotes healthy immune function and protects against seasonal threats! So its an added protection I use for myself!

It's recommended to swish the oil in your mouth for 20 minutes! That's a long time which is why I have incorporated it into my morning routine. Before I get into the shower each day, I take a swig of my oil solution and swish it around my mouth while I'm in the shower, when I towel dry, get dressed and ready and THEN I spit it OUTSIDE! (So I don't clog my drains! I'l usually spit it on wood, to keep the wood moist and strong, like my deck or fence!)

I have to admit, I am NOT one to make regular doctor visits, that includes the dentist. I hadn't been to the dentist in many years but I wanted to go get my teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist told me I had excellent oral health and no cavities! I was so happy to hear that! I told her it had been 6 years since I had last been to the dentist. She was shocked! She asked me how I kept my teeth and gums so healthy and I told her about oil pulling! She had never heard of it before but was going to talk to the dentist about it!

It's so easy to do! And it has so many benefits! Besides the ones listed in the photo, it's like giving your mouth a detox! It strengthens the muscles of the face and neck, keeping the facial skin toned, and I feel that it helps to break up and remove plaque!

Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!

Cheers to your health!
